Born in Lithuania 1909. Emigrated to Israel in 1929 and settled in Kibbutz Zera in the Jordan valley. In 1932 he arrived in Tel-Aviv and studied in the Zaritsky studio. In the 1940's he joined the British Army and served in Egypt and Iraq. In 1948 he was amongst the founders of the "New Horizons" group and took part in all their exhibitions. In 1952 - 1972 he taught at the Kibbutz Seminar and in 1968 received the Dizengoff prize for art. He was appointed honorary president of the Union of Artists and Sculptures in Israel in 1985. His works appear in many museums and private collections in Israel and abroad. He died 1986
